I am getting more worried that attempting to build a school on this site is just going to be a major cluster-you-know-what and our kids will just get stuck endlessly somewhere else. I want my elementary-age kids to go to HS-8 but at this rate I'm not sure they'll make it. Lex-7 may have fancy brochures that make everyone hate them, but they also have such a nice, big, flat, convenient piece of property that we could build on.

Dear Friend,
Over the last year, many of you have been communicating with me about the importance of HS 8 to your family and community, and have urged this BOS to move forward with purchasing the NCC site in order to get this much needed school built. I am pleased to inform you that today, the BOS voted 9-0 to move forward with the signing of the contract to purchase this property. This will begin the process of moving forward with the various land use approvals and working with the community on tightening down the design and the location of the building.
As you know we have looked at numerous options and at the end of the day, this, in my opinion, is the best answer. It is part of a 3 school solution for the Ashburn area that will be a community school – a walkable school. I want to thank all of you who have supported this and approached this in a positive, let’s get it done manner.
Best Wishes,
Scott

I suggest you act to enage your neighbors and work cooperitivley with the School Board to get this done right. Now is the time to act! Can you do it Mom23? If the dissenters to the plan continue to fight, things may go all too wrong.
