The HS-8 Traffic Study re: the NCC building site is found on the LCPS website here: Planning and Legislative Services, http://cmsweb1.lcps.org/509905169119/lib/509905169119/HS8%20NCC/HS8_Traffic_Study.pdf.
What are your thoughts about the traffic study and what it means for the HS-8 build plan.
The county looks like it's lining up funding for HS-8 in 2012 for an open timeframe around 2015.

I would like to see two lanes back out of the MS and HS site on the round about at river point dr and upper belmont. With two lanes coming in and most being parents dropping off kids in the AM, then heading to work the flow of the out bound cars at that time should be just as heavy as the inbound. Thus creating an even harder problem for people in the community to get on upper belmont in the morning... why not do it right to begin with and not have to go back and modify it later on.

Yeah...even higher surges in cut through traffic! Just want I wanted for Christmas!
Do we know which sub divisions will be sending their high schoolers over to this new school? Potomac Stations, University Heights, Belmont Country Club? They are proposing a roundabout at the intersection of Upper Belmont Place and Riverpoint Drive. I don't see how this will help with the increase in traffic at that intersection, and having inexperienced high schoolers driving through such an intersection is unrealistic. Will it be difficult for schools buses to navigate the turns? They plain and simply ugly looking. Will this effect property values, to the homes in that area?
We are kidding ourselves, if we think any of the students that live in "walking distance", will actually walk to the school all the time. Why haven't we considered land by BCC or between Janelia Farm and George Washington University, then extend Riverside Parkway.
