06/18/20111600 hrs.43500 block Riverpoint Dr. LeesburgSexual Assault: Personnel from the Lansdowne Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office after a victim of a sexual assault arrived in the emergency room. An investigation revealed the victim was sexually assaulted by a known occupant of the home on Riverpoint Drive where the victim also resides.  The 73 yr old suspect , a resident of Lansdowne was charged with Rape. Suspect remains held without bond.C2011-009479     


The Loudoun Sheriff's Office does not normally issue press releases for sexual assault type cases where the victim and offender as known to one another. This is done to help preserve the privacy and identity of the victim in these types of cases.


In this incident the Sheriff's Office had several inquiries about the event.

 The above information is being made available to help assure the public that there are no ongoing  public safety concerns relating to this event.

Ummmm...how can we say with this limited information that there is no ongoing safety concern??? 

Well, Just as an FYI, the "we" that we're referring to is actually the Loudoun County Sheriff who stated that in their release to AGDIL referenced above.

 

Just to be clear, that was not an interpretation, we are just reporting what the Public Safety officials have told us. 

 

Not sure what else we can do on that front....
