I was disturbed to see this posted at that thread:

"Further research reveals that Whitbeck has received donations fromVendors under at will contracts with Lansdowne."

Is this accurate?

At the minimum John Whitbeck remains controversial amongst Lansdowne Residents and I would recommend Republicans vote for Minchew in the primary.

Looking at MC DEAN contributions, it appears that they hosted an event on June 21 and the exact same parties above gave to four candidates - Suzanne Volpe, Matt Latourneu, Janet Clark and..RALPH BUONA.  Perhaps they are betting (banking) on any BoS decisions waiting until after the election?

I am reviewing now, but it doesn't look good for him.  There appears to be serious issues and I will post more later.  John knew this information would be reviewed.  Apparently he doesn't care about the conflicts of interest.  He appears to have taken money from companies he is directly responsible for as an HOA board member.  This is a serious problem and will likely warrant his resignation from either the board or the end of his campaign.

Look, John's a nice guy with a sweet family -- I think he just doesn't understand there are certain actions he can't take as a public figure that he can as a private figure.  Politics is rough, and you have to answer to the public for every mistake you make.

I would agree with you on that.  I don't know John personally and have never met his family, but I am sure he is a nice person and a good friend to his friends.  But he is trying to be a public figure and in my opinion is not ready for it and doesn't have the core personality and leadership traits that are needed to be successful.

 

I have just posted a call for him to step down from one of his activities.  There was at least one other unethical campaign contribution and the details are in that post.

By the way, to add to my point in the other post about Whitbeck's critics not knowing each other, I would point out that you and I don't know each other as well as far as I know.
