Hello Lansdowne-

Once again we've had a little bit of bad weather, and residents continue to forget to clear their sidewalks - that means all walks surrounding your property.

Its really amazing that people continue to forget their duty and responsibility as homeowners to clear the sidewalks.  Then again - I guess some homeowners just don't care if a young child slips and falls while walking to their bus stop, or slips while at the bus stop, or someone falls while out for a walk... because some lazy homeowner couldn't take a few minutes to take their lazy butt outside to do their part.

Maybe someday the HOA will start to enforce the rules with regards to homeowner responsibilities - outside of landscaping, fences, and home businesses.  No one can get hurt for the previously mentioned things - but some ice and snow has the potential to keep the ER and our local primary care docs busy.

So before you hop in your car to sit in traffic making your way east.... take :30 minutes to do your part and clean the sidewalks around your property!

G,

You may have reasons to be upset, but two wrongs don't make a right and more importantly, not doing it makes no difference in solving your problems.

Do it for the children...  You don't want anyone hurt I am sure.

I tell my preteen and teen children to shovel the walks and some driveways for many houses in either direction of mine.  It is good exercise, it is neighborly and it help some people who can't so easily do it themselves.  Everyone should just help out...
I think the HOA should give 24 hrs after a snow event and then send out their own crews and bill either the homeowner or the bank if the property is foreclosed.  Makes me angry that people ignore their responsibility to the neighborhood.
Ditto

That's a pretty good idea; I think they should use that premise and send out "bills" to folks who leave their trash/recycling toters outside. But let's not stop there, there are folks breaking dozens of Covenants rules on a daily basis - let's send them fines too. Home-based businesses ... Fine 'em.

Great idea!
