Is anything be done about speeding in the community? The speeding and pass thru traffic is ridiculous on Upper Meadow Dr. I witnessed what looked like a Bugatti speeding at least twice the speed limit one weekend.

What does it take to get speed bumps installed?

You want something done right, do it yourself... park your cars curbside! Quick and effective... no cost, no BOD, no HOA, no VDOT. Immediate results... two-way traffic, streets with vehicles parked on both sides... someone must yield. So stop double-parking on driveways (and blocking sidewalks-- which is illegal), and park in the street. A few (legally) parked cars leads to chokepoints leads to less speeding.

Has anyone investigated the cost of the small signs, like on Route 15 Northbound in Lucketts that show the speed limit, and below it, flash the speed you are going? That may be something the HOA could consider funding. It would be more effective than simply posting the speed limit.

Speeding on Kipheart Drive is horrific---lots kids- disaster waiting to happen- drivers dont care. Speed bumps would help.

HOA is pulling together a traffice committee - they also hired a traffic calming company to look at what we need. the committee can spearhead the movement with the county, VDoT, etc. Something has to be done, as there are no speedlimit signs, wide roads, short driveways and a recipe for disaster. I am joining the committee and will do all I can to make a change and turn our roads into safe ones.

Speed limit signs won't really do much. If people want to speed, they will; and they know the likelihood of police monitoring is next to zero.

On roads like Riverpoint, the only thing that will work is speed bumps. They should also designate extra fines in these problem zones, over-and-above the normal fines associated with speeding. I'm guessing if someone got a $400 speeding ticket, they "might" learn something.

Why on earth don't they have 25 limit signs up in the neighborhood? Everyday I see people speeding way over the limit on Riverpoint. I makes me so angry.

I saw a candy-apple burgundy Mercedes-Benz SL - license plate "FOX ENT", burgundy, going Northbound on Belmont Ridge Road, going approximately 65mph (double the limit).

I think posting the descriptions and identities of those doing radical speeds, might reveal Lansdowne residents (vs. people who are merely cutting through) who need to be confronted about their lack of regard for safety of others.
